Gulf Breeze Bait and Tackle, established in 1981, is the oldest family-owned fishing tackle store in the Florida Panhandle and is locally dubbed the "Fisherman's Candy Store." Located conveniently on the gateway to the beach, this full-line tackle shop is highly praised for its large inventory and knowledgeable veteran staff who provide expert local angling tips. It also serves the community as an official weigh station for the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) and offers on-site state fishing license sales. The shop is renowned for its high-volume bait selection, featuring thousands of live shrimp housed in specialized, aerated, temperature-controlled bay water tanks. Anglers can also find other highly sought-after baits, including fresh sand fleas, frozen cigar minnows, squid, and menhaden to target both inshore and offshore species. Alongside premium bait, they stock top-tier gear brands like Shimano and Van Staal, including specialized surf-fishing setups perfect for local pompano runs.
